Nachisan Seigantoji

The Nachisan Seiganto-Ji Temple is a Buddhist temple located in the province of Wakayama. It is an ancient temple founded by an Indian monk who often practiced at the Nachi waterfalls behind the temple. It is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the Sacred Sites and Pilgrimage Routes in the Kii Mountain area.

The place was joined by Kumano Nachi to the Shinto Taisha shrine, but what may surprise you is that these two places were actually dedicated to the same faith cult.

In the territory of Santuario besides the main hall, there is also a pagoda tower with a reddish color. The view from the top of the pagoda in front of the Nachi waterfall is a picturesque view. The main object of worship in the sanctuary is "hibutsu," an image of the Buddha that is usually hidden from the public and can only be shown from time to time.
